What is the Celebration of Student Writing?
The Celebration of Student Writing: “science fair” meets writing. Students showcase their class writing assignments in creative and multimedia formats. Instead of students reading words from a page, they remix their writing and present it in fun and interesting ways to not only their fellow classmates, but also to the university community. Also, just like a science fair, awards will be given to the top 3 exhibits.
About the 2014 Celebration of Student Writing
This year’s celebration was a success. With over 100 students presenting over the course of the day, the event showed off the diverse, sophisticated work taking place in Writing 250 courses at the University of Mississippi. Student presentations included tri-fold posters, PowerPoints, Prezis, and a collecting of other digital and non-digital supplements. Student presentations were judged based on the quality of their research and the way they presented the research with their display. This year, awards were given to first and second place presenters, with a tie for third place. This years winners are:
