Brad Campbell joined the University of Mississippi as the Oxford Campus Writing Center Director in January 2014. He comes to Ole Miss from Mississippi State University where he served as the Interim Director of the Writing Center and Coordinator of the Online Writing Center. Brad is a 2005 graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received a B.A. in English and Psychology; he attended graduate school at Mississippi State University where he received an M.A. in English in 2008. Brad has experience teaching a wide range of composition and literature courses, including Developmental Composition, English Composition, Introduction to Literature, Intensive English Grammar, World Literature, and a variety of ESL courses. Currently, Brad teaches Writing 101, Writing 102, and Writing 301 in addition to his administrative responsibilities as Director of the Oxford Campus Writing Center. Brad has worked in writing centers since 2005, and he values the important role that centers play in fostering a culture of writing on college campuses, in high schools, and in local communities. His research interests include writing center theory, composition theory, and cultural studies. Specifically, he is interested in the intersection between writing and culture and the formation of writerly identities. Additionally, Brad is interested in writing center architecture and how space, locale, and aesthetics influence writerly engagement and efficacy.
