Emily Howorth
LIBA 102, Section 21 – M W F 12:00P-12:50P
In this class, students read fascinating essays and books covering a broad range of science-related topics, from octopus intelligence to ocean plastics to plagues — and everything in between. Through discussion and analysis, students examine how the authors make meaning and convey complicated material to a general audience. Finally, students take on the role of a science writer, researching a personally selected topic and composing their own unique essay and accompanying podcast episode.
